I have two large pieces of pegboard (4'x8') to play with. I found them after scouring craigslist for a week. They originally belonged to a very nice russian man who had them in his garage. His garage is full of half finished projects and projects waiting to happen: these pegboards were supposed to be part of a tool wall barrier for his workshop. Also in his garage is a nonworking honda which is buried under more projects; didn't even realize he had a car in there, there was so much stuff! He's been selling whatever is on top of the honda in hopes to eventually clear out enough "stuff" to be able to fix it. He is currently on year 2 of trying to clear out enough stuff. I think this year may be the year!
When he saw that I would have to tie the boards to the roof of my car, he worried that they would fly off, or snap in half (he spoke from experience) and spent 45 minutes making sure everything was tied and anchored. He even graciously provided twine for me to use after looking at my poor excuse for a bundle of string. You can't beat industrial strength waxed twine (he purchased this twine to use for an upholstering project which he had completed some time ago).
He did an excellent job, and it was put to the test as I went up and over Twin Peaks (wind!).
Therefore, these pegboards comes with good russian vibes.
I am planning on turning one of the sheets into a pegboard easel. Excitement!
